Q. Premier has established itself as the leader in the election systems industry. How has Premier been able to maintain its leadership position in this turbulent market?

A. In an industry that is constantly evolving, Premier Election Solutions offers the history, depth, and expertise to anticipate change and deliver the best solutions. Our experience and history within this industry have taught us that Election Day success depends on a balance of Premier technology, comprehensive services, and ongoing support. We work closely with states, counties, and municipalities to identify their needs and design custom solutions that meet those needs now and in the future.

Over the years, we've proven our technology in numerous elections and have been tested in some challenging situations. Through these experiences, we have expanded our knowledge and further enhanced our solutions. Moving forward, we will continue to leverage the latest technologies to make the election process even more efficient and consistent. We'll also continue to work with election officials as a full-service partner with the experience, people, and infrastructure in place to deliver customized, quality services for each election.

Q. Can you describe the magnitude of support needed and provided for the November 2006 election? In the future – with more customers and more commitments – will Premier be able to maintain the level of support shown in that election?

A. In 2006, election officials in Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, Utah and elsewhere used Premier touch-screen and optical scan electronic voting machines to ensure the accurate and secure count of votes. About 70 percent of Premier touch-screen machines used on Election Day had a voter-verifiable paper record. All used independently tested technology and security protocols. In fact, all 24,700 Premier optical scan machines used across the country during the 2006 election had a fully auditable paper ballot.

Additionally, in the November 2006 election, more than 11,000 Premier ExpressPoll electronic poll books were used to increase the speed and accuracy of the voter check-in process in Maryland and Georgia. Premier also provided 126,000 touch-screen machines outfitted with accessibility features that enabled seniors and vision-impaired voters to participate. Other machines offered voters the ability to vote in the language of their choice.

We are able to provide these critical technologies to our customers because we combine our large-scale, U.S.-based manufacturing operations with extensive research and development capabilities. Because of our history, depth, and expertise, we are confident that we can continue to provide voters and election officials with the technology and services to efficiently deliver accurate results on Election Day.
